In a garden for the hungry heart
There is a feast to choose from:
The lavender for dreaming, or
Give the peonies a try!
Fill your plate with petals
And lay flowers to your rumbling
appetite for romance–
The roses satisfy.
For the lonely, take a pansy
For the wayward, trust the chives
The poppies taste of bravery
And the lilies of ‘goodbye’.
The hibiscus for its smile
The hyacinth for fun
The marguerite for all its hope
And carnations for their pride.
In a garden for the hungry heart
The geraniums will tend you
Giddy in their gladness
You decided to stop by.
